UNIKOP College proudly celebrated Malaysia’s 68th Merdeka Day with a vibrant and meaningful event on campus, reflecting the spirit of unity, patriotism, and national pride. The event was officially officiated by CEO of UNIKOP University College, Dato’ Pahlawan Suparamanian. In his Speech, he highlighted the importance of preserving the nation’s heritage and nurturing a sense of pride among the younger generation.
Layar Merdeka – A special screening of the patriotic movie Mallbalt, which drew students and staff to reflect on the values of independence.
F & B Stalls – A variety of food and beverage stalls offering local flavours and festive treats.
Psychometric Booth – An interactive station where students explored their personalities and potential career paths.
Cultural Performances – Lively dance and singing performances by student clubs that showcased Malaysia's rich cultural heritage.
Adding a competitive edge to the celebration, several patriotic-themed competitions were held with enthusiastic participation from both students and staff:
DIY Wau Merdeka – A traditional kite-making contest infused with national symbols and colours.
Explore Race Merdeka – A campus-wide challenge combining physical activity with Merdeka- themed tasks.
Ekspresi & Apresiasi Seni Merdeka – An art and performance showcase expressing love for the country through visual art, poetry and short film.
Merdeka Runway Fashionista – A fashion show featuring traditional and modern attire inspired by Malaysian identity.
